A Favorite Childhood Memory, All Grown Up
That's the caption on the new cupcakes at Starbucks. I shudder to think of the calorie count. Can we please stop equating childhood with gak?

Agreed. Instead, go to iTunes and download SchoolHouse Rock for those fond childhood memories.

I never ate gak food as a child. I didn't even like it. Now when I go shop at the grocery store and see all those parents buying tons of gak like candy and chips for their beloved babies, I seriously doubt their motive. Maybe they use them as a drug, a way to pacify the brags. Or, they're too lazy and uninterested to cook interesting, nutritious and good food for both their children and themselves, which is just too bad.

I am new to reading about CR and keep seeing the word gak, meaning junk food? I like reading what you post, April, thanks for writing about your life.

Starbucks seems full of gak to me! I hardly ever go there, but I am always surprised at all the pastry and high calorie drinks.

Uh, well, I ... uh... I like Starbucks. Love it in fact. If a needful, hard-to-break, easy-to-relapse addiction for a beige drink can be called love. And I'm not talking about the food or (eegad!) the sugary drinks, but The Latte. And the fact that it's the modern day Cheers for the regulars -- everybody knows my name and my drink: one half-caf grande organic no-foam extra-hot latte for Sam comin' up!!!
