Polar Bear In The Dessert
Many thanks to my public health expert friend Emma for pointing out my spelling error in a recent post. Her second grade teacher taught the difference between desert and dessert by pointing out that the second "s" in "dessert" was like how you might want a second helping of dessert after dinner.
The fact is, when you put polar bears in the dessert, you have to season them extremely carefully. Polar bears are notoriously fatty, so you can make a sort of foie gras pate out of them, but if you're going to have it for dessert I'd say you need to add a great deal of cinnamon, cardamom, and a heaping quarter teaspoon of sucralose. If you're someone who likes nutmeg, you could add nutmeg, but I wouldn't go too crazy on the pumpkin pie type spices, else people will think they're eating a polar pumpkin pie.
If you're going to have a polar bear in the dessert, I strongly suggest that you enjoy it with a small glass of the finest port you can afford.

When you start learning English as a second language, this is one of the first things they teach you and I never got it right until some American friend made big fun of me. The other one is love and law. Our primeminister once in a speech in the White House (Clinton era) said "I always act according to love". It was a very romantic thing to say for a primeminister but of course she meant law.

April,
Still loving your blog. I've finally settled down after a long bout with Katrina and feeling a resurge of interest in CR. Which nutritional software do you like the best? Keep up the great work and don't let one non-CR'd diner get you down. People who aren't really hungry just don't appreciate the lovely minerally taste of vegetables and the sweetness of fruit. If you aren't hungry, you need to trick your appetite with sugar, fat, and excess salt. Thanks again for all your hard work!

Actually, polar bear liver is toxic, so I wouldn't recommend eating it at all.
