Eight Thing I Love About the CR Society Conference

8. Nobody cares what you eat.

7. Nobody says you're too skinny.

6. There are lots of great presentations that make you think more deeply about how and why we do CR.

5. Catching up with old friends.

4. Making new friends.

3. Everyone looks younger than the last time you saw them.

2. It reminds me that yes, there is hope for longer, healthier life than most people would dream possible.

1. It's the first real vacation I've had in as long as I can remember.

April
It was such a JOY to meet you at this CR conference! Your talk was FABULOUS - you have the greatest sense of humor AND you are GORGEOUS gal - keep up the CR practice - it is obviously working for you and your handsome fella (loved his talk also!). You are both such an adorable couple! Hope to see you soon at the next CR conference! And I like you LOVED being around people who don't judge whether you do or don't eat and don't jump to this ridiculous conclusion that you must have an eating disorder if you don't overindulge.

One more thing: No one mistakes you for a member of the Living With AIDS Support Group!

Hi Kelly,

Nobody mistakes me for a member of the Living with AIDS support group on a normal day! I don't know if it's the healthy glowing skin or the slim yet curvy figure, somehow I just don't fit the profile of someone suffering from a life-threatening disease.

Though I do wish to support people living with AIDS, and have been very active in ACT UP Philly in the past.

On a completely unrelated topic, I am hoping you can suggest some healthy high calorie, low volume foods. I started cutting out the "gak", I believe you call it, a month ago, soda, alcohol, sweets, cookies, candy, high fat milk, etc. I upped my veggies and fruits. I am using cron-o-meter and thought for a while it might be off because it was consistently giving me numbers less than 1500. I found some people that used CRON-O-METER and said it was pretty accurate. Which means the fact I find it difficult to go over 1500 unless I eat less nutritious food is not good. So far I have found nuts, perhaps cereal like total to try and up my calories but I would like some more options, otherwise I might just start eating empty calories like spaghetti and eggnog.

From what I am reading I am loosing weight too fast. (1-2 pounds a week) I started at 174ish and am at 167 now, 5'9". I want to find out what caloric intake I need to stabilize my weight and then reduce my calories by 250 from there(1/2lb/week), So what I need is some foods that are high in calories that I can quickly fix my calorie total to get a better estimate of my Metabolic Rate.
