Just What the World Needed
Another hopelessly uninformed, ill-researched, knee-jerk emotional article mentioning CR.

Research? Was there actual research involved in that "article"? Seemed like a bunch of opinion by those who know less than nothing about the basics of CR. Not to mention that most of the commenters are completely in denial about the effects of their poor habits on their health. People bragging about not giving up smoking? Not losing weight because it doesn't really matter in the long run. And, as usual, thinking that everyone who does CR is suffering in some way. Urgh! I really don't know how you can stand to even read these things, April - it would make me crazy just to stumble across all these unintelligent blogs, spreading poor info to the masses. Depressing.

April, where do you get this stuff?!
As far as I can see, it's just ill-informed blog entry - not a significant article at all.
No worries. Let it go....life's too short to stress over this type of twaddle.

My husband had some wonderful words of wisdom:
"Sometimes, people are just assholes."
So true, so true.

Oh, She has some serious issues going on there. No need to get worked up..turn off your news reader for this type of junk. It's not worth any amount of brain energy what-so-ever.

I made a comment on there with links to most of the human research that has been done... however the posts were deleted by today.

April - I know when I was really heavy, it would have been appealing to think that there was something wrong with people who were careful about what they ate, and who were successful in keeping weight off. It seemed so impossible to me that I could ever lose weight... nothing seemed to work. Then I found out about CR, and started reading your site (and the CR sites of others). I started trying to follow it (albeit with a fair amount of falling off the wagon) and now, after almost exactly one year, I've lost 40 pounds (still some to go) and kept it off, and my sister (who was pre-diabetic, and a size 28) has lost 70!!! I have lost this weight, eating more and better than I ever thought I could, and I feel great. For me, it is more about the 'here and now' benefits of a healthier body, true, but the longer lifespan is certainly appealing.
I just wanted you to know that I think you affect a lot of people in a positive way... people who don't necessarily comment a lot, or at all. I think a lot of the people who are so bitter and hateful about CR (and, when you read most of those posts, have you ever noticed how vitupritive and venomous they are? There's something up with that) are simply as I was... people with no idea how to lose the extra weight, who are, at the bottom, scared they will always be trapped with this unhealthy body. They'll go to the grave denying it, but I am sure it is so.
So, thanks for teaching me about CR... it has changed my life so positively! And, really, just like so many other CR'd people, I'd like to tell everyone out there who may be thinking about giving CR a try: I have never eaten so much, or so well. No, I'm not hungry!

Wow, the linked entry is really too boring for such a long post; couldn't make it to the end. The only entertaining part was when she claimed not to have lost weight on 1200 a day.

The other day I just heard (on tv) that children born after the year 2000 will actually have shorter life spans than previous generations. Why is this? Apparently due to diet related illnesses. There is also a magazine (can't remember which one) with a cover about "The Fertility Diet" out this month. This to me indicates that everyone is finally realizing that what we eat is VERY important to our health, fertility and our life span. I think CRON is absolutely brilliant. It helps to lose weight, increasing health and life span. Who wouldn't want that? Keep up the great work.
Happy Holidays!

I love your blog April and am inspired although, unfortunately I lose inspiration when I think of the many hurdles regarding my health. Nothing that a proper diet couldn't correct. I have high blood pressure, high blood sugar, cholesterol, chemical and food sensitivities, migraine etc. You get the picture. I would like to manage a nutritious 1200 calorie a day diet. But I need support so I would like some feedback if possible. Thank you for all you do. Jannette

Hi April
I would agree with the others to not worry about the negative rant. If they deleted Mat's answer that it's a good indication of someone who does not want to be impartial by listening to scientific information, but only wants to stick to her rant.
Cheers, A
