Diet not going well... but we're winning!

Totally failed at challenge... too stressed out to eat at home, then eating a bite here and there of the truly amazing conference room food that our new staff is ordering. Weight still dropping but very slowly, as is best. Nutrition not great, but it's four days out from a vote and I'm not going to worry about it.

Plenty of time to live long and healthy after Thursday!

I'm glad you are realizing there are more important things in life (like what you contribute to the world!) than living until you are 120. xoxo

April, I've been following your blog for probably 4+ years. And have noticed so many struggles to stay on the reduced calorie program. You know, if you'd eat a higher fat, no grain diet, you'd find it a LOT easier to stay on a CR diet. When you include grains and starches in your diet, you're just asking your body to be hungry again within too short a time frame. Fats (especially saturated fats and monounsaturated fats) and animals proteins, especially, will satiate for long periods.

CR-er's are afraid of a high fat diet, of course, because of the extra cals. But, in the long run, it's MUCH easier to stay within your caloric limit on a high fat diet, because the gnawing hunger goes away.

Judith -- ballots won't be counted for awhile, possibly months, due to some totally bogus labor board charges filed by an anti union outfit out of DC that just wants workers to not have the right to organize.

Healthy Cookie -- don't know how long you've been following, but I've been a union organizer all this time, sacrificing lots of my health, sanity and happiness to contribute to the world. So it's not exactly a new thing. I would however prefer to be both contributing to the world and alive at the same time. Selfish, I suppose you think.

Scott -- I don't eat grains, except for rare treats. Haven't since I started CR.

Is beer about the same as grain?
